gracefully stabbing

Throughout the Design course, we were given the task of choosing provocative words, and defining them in our own way. Using these words, we would further the meanings, application, and combination of them in order to finalize a pavilion encompassing our words and how we defined them. My neologism of "stabraceful" stems from my difficult combination of "gracefully stabbing". Once I meshed these into a fashion I could portray visually, I added the "redirection" action that my neologism would perform through my pavilion. Each following piece of work was a product I created, and used in my final presentation.
A final study model created using one of my axonometric drawings focusing on the neologism of Stabraceful. Here grace encompasses the connections between stabbing components, which entirely rely on point to point connections.
A final study model created from a drawing series focusing on the concept of Redirection. Here, redirection recurs from a single point, to multiple, and back to another single point.
A second final study model conceptualizing Stabraceful. In this iteration, a connection between stabbing components was used that allowed for a graceful movement from one surface to the next. Maximizing surfaces allowed a graceful and elegant look for the stabbing components.
A language diagram used to help convey my purposes behind what I did for my project. I provided very precise definitions to prevent the audience from interpreting my words very generally, and to express my research behind each concept. Additionally, the site was a task needing to have though put into. The site will be further understood with visuals below.
Here a hybrid diagram pinpoints moments throughout my final pavilion that are utilized based on my concepts. In the center is the key moment that captures the essence of my stabraceful concept.
Front elevation view of the pavilion.
Section view of the pavilion. Above and below are sections of the pavilion of the same cut plane. The above view is the same front view as the elevation. Below is the backside of the section I cut.
A plan section view of the pavilion and site. Here it is clearly visible that the site is defined through lines created from the penetration of the pavilion into the ground plane.
Photos from within my physical model of the pavilion that provide detailed views of the key moments defining my terms aforementioned.
